Program Staff (8-10 staff needed)

Schedule:  Based on days and hours of operations and programs.  Flexibility in scheduling dependant on availability of staff to cover all hours of the operations and programs.

Hours Per Week: 10-20

Compensation: $11-$13/hr, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

  • Checking customers in/Intake
  • Assisting customers through the retail, personal items, and cookware sections
  • Stocking and maintaining inventory of service area
  • Light preparation and packaging of fresh foods
  • Provide information on products, recipes, and nutritional information
  • Provide appropriate referrals to programs and departments
  • Assist with recipe and wellness demonstrations
  • Ensuring a high standard of food safety
  • Maintaining a clean, welcoming, and safe environment with superior customer service

SPH Graduate Interns (2 Staff)

  • Hours Per Week: 16-24 hours per week or more if available
  • Compensation: Stipend or hourly wage of $13/an hour (tbd)

Daily tasks and administrative duties may include:

  • Co-develop, support, and evaluate programming (nutrition counseling, culinary trainings, financial literacy classes, SNAP sign-up, etc.)
  • Training and supervision of Maize and Blue Cupboard student staff
  • Management of food safety
  • Implementing, managing and developing nutritional programming such as nutrition classes, one on one nutritional counseling, food prep, and cooking demonstrations
  • Management of website and social media for passive virtual programming, and outreach
  • Scheduling kitchen use
  • Kitchen oversight and coordination
  • Management of active certifications, coordinate with EHS as needed
  • Support development and fundraising
  • Coordinate staffing for kitchen use, programming, and kitchen preparation for distribution
  • Schedule and support volunteers, as needed
  • Support student leadership council
