University Housing is looking to recruit dynamic tag-teams of student presenters, to deliver the short presentation about Housing to prospective students visiting through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions Campus Day program in the Michigan Union.
Each student team will have two members, sharing the speaking. Campus Day runs January 26 - April 22, every Monday and Friday, with a few variations (and hiatus during Spring Break).
The presentation takes place in the morning, approximately between 9 - 10am. Details are being finalized. Teams will only need to be present for one hour. The presentation itself runs 20 minutes.
Campus Day is an extraordinarily popular program, with audiences that range from 100 to more than 600 people. As a result, this job is an excellent training ground for anyone interested in honing their public speaking skills, storytelling, and ability to connect with people. And putting down on your resume that you’ve held an audience of 600 spellbound, that is no small thing.
At least one semester living in University Housing.
Schedule that will allow for regular Monday OR Friday presentations, 9-10am.
Experience in public speaking preferred, particularly in front of parent and/or student audiences.
Candidates can come from any field of study.
Comprehensive training in the Housing material and in public presenting will be provided and will form the first few weeks of the job.
