SOCIAL MEDIA PHOTOGRAPHER
We're looking for a student photographer ready to travel all over campus snapping the events, the nooks, the hangouts, the roommates, the rabbits, the RAs, the quiet late hours, the blinking morning mists, the cultural exchanges, the snack sessions, the essay writing, the piano prodding, the plaintive guitar strumming, the impromptu corridor festivals, the ceremonial microwaving of ramen, the forming of friendships, the zigzag path of a sleepy bee, the thumping pace of the mailroom, the heartbeat of the community center, the light that streams into a lounge on the fourth floor at ten in the morning, catching specks of dust and a volume of French history you're supposed to be reading, the squeaking whiteboards, a screen reflected in the glasses of three group members hurrying to meet a deadline, half-burnt cookies baked on a whim in the community kitchen, and really anything else you think expresses the Michigan Housing experience. A smartphone is all you need for the photos, and they'll be destined for the Michigan Housing Instagram and Facebook accounts. You'll be a part of a larger student social media team, but working independently to capture campus.
TO APPLY, ATTACH A RESUME INCLUDING A LINK TO YOUR PORTFOLIO (or a social account where you feature your photos).
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel around campus
- A documentarian's hunger to capture the variety of life as it is truly lived
- Skill in photo editing software
- A portfolio demonstrating photography appropriate for social media
