Job Description: Assist with daily office operations determined by supervisor. Assist with logistics of event coordination for the Multicultural Center; including scheduling reservations. Perform varied clerical duties such as copying, draft letter, and answering phones.
Educational value of this job: The ability to learn the inter-workings of a Multicultural Center. Gain knowledge of other cultures and firsthand experience within a student life unit. Attend mandatory once-a-month workshops educating in the areas mentioned above along with the enriched experience of contributing to creating resource projects throughout the semester.
Job Requirements: Must believe in the Mission and Vision of the Trotter Multicultural Center and participate in once-a-month workshops. Must be able to set priorities and exercise initiative. Must be available to open at 8:45am and work until 1pm, and/or available from 1-5pm, but be willing to work occasional events in the evening or on weekends. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must have superior customer service skills combined with an independent initiative to interact with others and provide guests with a hospitable experience(s). Serious consideration will be given to those candidates with graphic design and web maintenance experience.
Hours per week: 12-15
Specific shifts: 8:45am-1pm, 1pm-5pm
Time frame: Fall/Winter
